Title: Content Marketing Executive
Years with the company: 1 month
Tell us a bit about your role
My role is as a Content Executive, so working with the bloggers for Your Baby Club, editing, sub-editing and writing the blogs. It’s technical but fun!
And how did you get there?
I studied media postgrad and journalism for undergrad. I worked in social media before this but decided a move towards content and marketing was much more suited to me.
Sounds interesting, what brands were you working with?
I worked for a loose leaf tea company for a while, then an ecology company, so a wide range to say the least. Working within the baby market is much easier to grasp than ecology though, as everyone has a background understanding of babies from lived experiences, whereas with things like re-wilding there’s so much to learn fresh!
It sounds like you’re quite creative, coming from a media background and working in marketing?
I’d like to say I’m a creative person. I’m actually crocheting a blanket with a hood and sleeves at the moment. It was a lockdown hobby that I picked up, but has been very handy during the colder months.
And where do you do that from?
I’m based in Oxford, but I only moved there 6 months ago. It’s a lovely part of the world.
And if you could pick your desk up and pop it anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I think I’d move my desk to the beach on a Greek island, preferably somewhere like Milos or Naxos, so I can go for a swim over lunch.
Any hidden talents other than crochet?
I’m actually secretly quite musical. I play five instruments and I actually thought I was going to do it as a my degree for a long time before I changed my mind to do Journalism.
As a new starter, what have been your first impressions of FanFinders?
Everyone seems very friendly and happy to have a chat. And people get to know you beyond just your role. Everyone’s genuinely keen to know people for people.
And finally, If you were on a desert island, what three things are you bringing and why?
That’s a tough one, I’d definitely need some sun cream as I burn at even the thought of the sun.
Then is it against the rules if I say I’d bring a buffet? Then I don’t have to worry about finding food and can enjoy the peace and quiet of the island.
I’d also bring the Lord of the Rings books as it’s always taken me ages to read through them so I’ve got plenty of entertainment for however long I’ll be there.
